Martel has been named one of the outstanding young professionals in NKBA’s Thirty Under 30 Class of 2024.
Kaitlyn Martel, the 29-year-old director of marketing at IMARK Plumbing, is making waves in the plumbing industry with her fearless approach to challenges. Leading the largest cooperative marketing group in the sector, she has wowed audiences of more than 1,200 members and suppliers, imparting crucial insights on marketing programs and financial incentives.
Her journey in the industry spans over six years, during which she’s mastered nearly every facet of plumbing distribution—from ERP implementations and inventory data migrations to website launches and campaign management. One of her standout achievements? Orchestrating the overhaul of a sprawling 20,000-square-foot New York Plumbing Supply Distribution Center.
Martel, who works remotely from New York, draws an intriguing parallel between her career and the world of art dealing. “Developing a unique brand voice in a saturated market while selling products you don’t produce is a remarkable challenge,” she notes.
A DIY enthusiast with a background of hands-on home improvements, Kaitlyn’s design taste leans toward midcentury modern—favoring clean lines and minimalist aesthetics. This affinity for design was evident when she and her husband, Dan, explored the Nordic charm of Iceland on their honeymoon. Enthralled by the country’s natural beauty and its integration into architectural styles, Martel also highlights Iceland’s exceptional cuisine and spas as top attractions.
Looking ahead, she has exciting plans that blend her professional passion with personal goals: seeing sunrises and sunsets on every continent and cooking her way through Ina Garten’s Barefoot in Paris cookbook. With her dynamic career and vibrant personal pursuits, Martel continues to inspire with her innovative approach and adventurous spirit.
