Equiparts Corp. Acquires Parts Unlimited Inc.
Equiparts Corp., located in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, recently announced that it has acquired Parts Unlimited Inc. (PUI). Located in Manassas, Virginia, PUI is a plumbing supply distributor that has been supplying local plumbers and facility managers with plumbing parts and maintenance solutions since 1992.
Equiparts and PUI have been friendly plumbing distributors since the company presidents met in the early 2000s. Both distributors were members of the group North American Plumbing Specialties Distributors (NAPSD), which is a professional group of distributors who provide specialty plumbing solutions to commercial businesses.
The addition of PUI brings 15 new employees to the Equiparts team. It also adds a second warehouse located in Manassas, Virginia. This secondary warehouse enables Equiparts to more quickly service customers located in Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland. “We are very excited for the Parts Unlimited team to join Equiparts,” said Joel Weiss, president of Equiparts. “Our values, professional service and product expertise align with PUI’s values, which made acquiring them an easy decision to make.”

The Tap of Kansas features two locations in Wichita, Kansas and St. Joseph, Missouri, making 32 branch locations total for the Mountain Contractor Supply Group ESOP holding company and 750-plus employee-owners.

“We are so excited to join with fellow IMARK wholesaler, Mountainland Supply, in this way,” said Don Patry, president of The Tap of Kansas. “We really were amazed at how closely our leadership teams were aligned with our internal processes.”

With the recent addition, Mountain Contractor Supply Group now operates in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Kansas and Missouri.
“This expanded regional footprint gives us a unique position in the marketplace, but we are not done,” Johnson said. “We will work to improve systems, processes, product offerings, sales strategy and marketing to grow the business and leave future generations a legacy that enriches our communities and that all of us can be proud of.”
