Founded in 1999, Artistic Hardware is a single boutique showroom tucked away in Northfield, New Jersey. The high-end plumbing and hardware business opened during a time owner Pat McCarthy jokingly refers to as the “Jurassic Period” of the industry.
Over the past 25 years, the company has evolved into a go-to source for luxury plumbing fixtures, decorative hardware, lighting and even saunas, serving clients from Cape May to Long Beach Island and carving out a distinctive niche along the coastal New Jersey luxury home market.
What sets Artistic Hardware apart is not just its commitment to design and craftsmanship, but its unexpected, long-standing relationship with the film and television industry. From their early work on Snake Eyes in Atlantic City to more recent collaborations on Only Murders in the Building, American Horror Story, Dexter: Resurrection, After the Hunt and many seasons of Sex and the City and Gossip Girl, just to name a few, Artistic Hardware has built a reputation as a trusted partner for set designers.
These collaborations often involve recreating real-world locations on sound stages, requiring the team to meticulously match door hardware, fixtures and design details to maintain continuity on screen.
The company’s 6,500-square-foot showroom features a thoughtfully curated selection of premier brands, including California Faucets, Watermark, House of Rohl, Top Knobs, Atlas, Vesta and Water Street Brass. In 2024, Artistic Hardware had its best year with House of Rohl and also launched its partnership with the Jorger faucet line.
With just 10 employees, including showroom manager Carol Kelly and team member Celina Baca, the operation remains small but deeply connected to the local design, architecture and contractor communities.
Artistic Hardware’s excellence was recently recognized when it was named Luxury Product Group (LPG)’s Showroom of the Year—an honor that affirmed the team’s dedication to creating a destination showroom experience.
The warm, welcoming atmosphere is part of the company’s charm, and even the owner’s four children lend a hand during breaks and summers, adding a family touch to the business.
The company has been a proud member of LPG for more than eight years, finding immense value in the organization’s annual conference, vendor connections and peer camaraderie.
McCarthy said being a member of LPG offers business advantages like rebates and meaningful connections with fellow industry professionals across the country.
With features in New Jersey Lifestyle Magazine and an ever-growing list of satisfied clients both on- and off-screen, Artistic Hardware continues to blend luxury design with creative collaboration, solidifying its status as a hidden gem in the high-end interiors world.
