Barclay Products can trace its history back to 1933 when it was Sterline Showers Co. Its primary products were Converto showers that enabled consumers with claw foot tubs to take showers, as well as soaking baths. In 1974 the company was transformed into an innovative decorative bath supplier with elegant designer products from around the world joining its domestic portfolio. To reflect the new direction, Sterline Showers became Barclay Products Limited in 1982.
Since the 1980s, the Barclay management team has focused on securing quality products and concepts from around the world that fit into the lifestyles of North American consumers. The list of countries the team has visited in search of uniquely styled bath products reads like the index to a world atlas—including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Dubai, Ecuador, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Portugal, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, and of course, the United States.
Today, Barclay’s modern 100,000-square-foot warehouse stocks more than 500 assorted styles of bathtubs, unique sinks (including wall-hung, pedestal, corner, farm-style, designer kitchen), pivoting drains, faucets, high-tank toilets and its original product, Converto showers.
The team at Barclay Products is committed to ensuring that every customer is completely satisfied with the products and service provided. Team members are empowered to ensure customer satisfaction.
“We are proud of the brands and products we sell, and we stand behind them 100%,” said Nathaniel Mucha, vice president of sales at Barclay. “We are committed to offering the right design elements, required performance specs, competitive pricing and unsurpassed customer service.”
Mucha joined Barclay in February, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in the decorative plumbing industry encompassing both the manufacturing and retail segments. Throughout his career he has worked with independent, regional and national dealers throughout North America using his expertise in analyzing, forecasting and strategically planning to generate increased sales and market share for all stakeholders.
Mucha is a proven and respected leader in the industry currently serving as president of the Decorative plumbing & Hardware Association, of which Barclay is also a member. Prior to joining Barclay, he served as executive vice president – bath at Fairmont Designs.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Nat as part of the Barclay team. It is not often that a company with 90 years of history like Barclay has the opportunity to unite an industry veteran like Nat,” said Timothy Witherington, president of Barclay.
“My main goal is to get out in the streets and create programs to help sell Barclay products,” Mucha said. “I want ours to be the first book you grab when you are looking for a product. One of the greatest opportunities for us right now is having Barclay truly being at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts as a go-to brand within the showroom and decorative plumbing remodel market.”
With regard to Barclay’s Luxury Product Group (LGP) membership, Mucha said, “LPG has been expanding and creating value for its members and manufacturing partners by advancing the idea of decorative showrooms and putting the luxury in our industry.”
